This morning didn't go the way I pictured it.
I had every intention of sitting down with my Bible before the day really got going. I even imagined having a few quiet minutes to myself before the busyness of the day began.
Instead, the morning had other plans.
Before I knew it, I was already moving from one thing to the next, and somewhere between making breakfast, answering a text, and mentally running through everything I needed to do, I caught myself thinking, Well... I guess I missed my time with God today.
That thought sat with me longer than I'd like to admit.
Not because I don't want to spend time with Him.
But because somewhere along the way, I started believing that if my morning didn't look peaceful, then maybe I had somehow missed Him altogether.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized how easy it is to put God inside the little box I've created for Him.
I tell myself He'll meet me during my quiet time—with my coffee, my Bible, and a few uninterrupted minutes.
And while I love those moments, God has never been limited to them.
He's with me while I'm folding laundry.
He's with me while I'm making breakfast.
He's with me while I'm driving across town.
He's with me while I'm cleaning up after dinner.
He's with me in the ordinary moments I tend to overlook because they don't always feel spiritual enough.
I keep coming back to these words in Psalm 46:10:
"Be still, and know that I am God."
For a long time, I thought being still meant everything around me had to become quiet.
But maybe that's not what this verse has been asking of me.
Maybe being still isn't about finding the perfect moment.
Maybe it's about becoming aware of the One who has been with me all along.
That changes everything.
Maybe tomorrow won't begin with a peaceful house.
Maybe my to-do list will start running before my feet even hit the floor.
Maybe breakfast will need to be made, laundry will still be waiting, and life will keep moving at its usual pace.
But I hope I'll remember this:
God isn't waiting for the perfect quiet moment to meet me.
He's already there.
He's been there all along.
And maybe that's where tomorrow can begin.
